The Wilfrid Laurier University Faculty of Science Students’ Association (FOSSA) is now hiring for constituency representatives.
We are the students and we represent YOU. The Wilfrid Laurier University Faculty of Science is comprised of nearly 3000 students. The Faculty of Science Students’ Association is a group of science students that hope to provide a diverse and enlightening experience to the Laurier Science Community. How? We plan on enhancing the university experience for all students officially registered in the programs offered by the Faculty of Science, including you! FOSSA will provide activities, information and services to enhance the educational, cultural, environmental and social conditions of its members throughout the year. Check out FOSSA.ca for updates. We also hope to serve as a liaison between the various affiliated student clubs in the Faculty of Science and the Students’ Union.
Position Description: Constituency Representatives are necessary to ensure that the needs of all students in the Faculty of Science are being met by FOSSA. Representatives offer important insight and opinions in executive meetings and make the other members aware of what events are happening in their department or respective club. Constituency representatives also assist with grading research scholarships and give important feedback in this process. One representative will be selected for each of the following departments/programs: (1) Biology; (2) Chemistry and Biochemistry; (3) Computer Science; (4) Kinesiology; (5) Mathematics; (6) Physics; and (7) Psychology. The time commitment is 2-3 hours per week including executive meetings.
It’s a new academic year and with new beginnings come opportunities for improvement and growth. The Faculty of Science at Laurier is growing ever so fast and FOSSA is a great way for you to get involved and leave a long-lasting impact within the Laurier community.
