Laurier Biology Association (LBA)
What is the LBA?
The initiative of Laurier’s Biology Association is to provide a source of unity to all Biology students and faculty across the many branches of the subject, and facilitate interaction between other science based faculties. Although this club is faculty based, an extensive background in biology is not necessary.
At the LBA we wish to provide a supportive and active community for students from all majors who have an interest in the biological sciences either academically or just as a biology enthusiast. We value both academic and non-academic aspects of university life and cater to these aspects through various events throughout the year. Our past events have included a trip to Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada, our annual Meet the Profs, exam review sessions, and various social events. This year will be no exception, as we continue to develop the organization and plan for another exciting and eventful year. It is because of the success of our events and strong member turnout that the LBA has in previous years won the Faculty of Science Students’ Association (FOSSA) Club of the Year award.
One of the reasons the LBA is successful is due to the involvement from our members. We pride ourselves on including all our members in planning club events through active participation. We encourage our members to give their opinion and share ideas on the types of events we undergo, the association clothing we purchase, and the direction we would like the club go as we continue to move forward and grow. So speak up – you never know, your idea may be the best thing since sliced bread!
Joining the LBA is easy! Simply provide us with your name and WLU email so we may add you to our club mailing list to receive updates on events and meetings. Then come out to our events to begin enjoying the benefits of being part of a top Laurier club
